DATING ADVICE FROM A MANWHORE ™
My debut work, “Dating Advice from a Manwhore,” recounts one woman's journey of self-doubt, relationships, and everyday struggles, all under the watchful eye of her philandering, yet wise, best friend.
Modern dating challenges and scientifically supported solutions are elegantly intermixed to create an engaging story that gives the reader a breadth of understanding and a source of entertainment often absent from contemporary self-help publications. This book is truly a thoughtful addition to the genre as a whole.
Guidance For Grown Folks:
We are in the midst of a wonderful self-care movement and the practice of self-care is on the rise for Black women and women of color, and for good reason. Black, Indigenous, and Women of Color - including trans women, non-binary, gender non-conforming, genderqueer, and all those with gender identities oppressed by misogyny - suffer from enhanced systems of oppression that can multiply negative thoughts and emotions. BIWOC experience racial trauma in the form of microaggressions, racism, and white supremacy, that can cause us physical, emotional, and mental harm daily. The ultimate goals of these journals are to:
1.) give BIWOC a space to help deepen their practice of mindfulness and gratitude,
2.) create a haven within themselves to both prepare for, and then rest from, the wears of the day, and
3.) allow them to get reacquainted with their truest and most authentic self through self-reflection.
Daily Intention and Gratitude Journal
A minimalist daily journal that gives you space to reflect on what you are grateful for and set your intention so you can tackle your day thoughtfully and with confidence.
About the Author
Storyteller at Heart
I have been a lover of language since my early teens. Growing up in Central California my favorite subject was always English, as I was in awe of the art and power of the spoken and written word. I continued my education to include an emphasis in communication at CSU, Fresno where I graduated with a dual bachelor’s degree. As the mother of two adoring little girls, I am actively working to pass my love of the English language on to my children by eagerly reading and writing with them regularly.
I'm also the co-host of The Kickback Show. An online radio show where I openly discuss everything from politics to religion, social justice, music, and a whole host of ways to improve individual well-being. I have a great passion for helping others to be their best selves and am a huge advocate for self-empowerment especially within the Black community.
"Our stories in this world begin with nothing but our bare bodies and a slap on the behind, and, if we’re lucky, they will end in the same fashion in which they began."
WHAT'S THE WORD
Everyone says they will write a book one day...and they never do! But this brilliant piece of literature has me inspired, reassuring my womanhood, giving myself permission to be unashamed of who I am and what I want.
I cannot wait to see what comes from her next.
This was an easy read, finished in a day. It is part comedy, complete with satire and statistics.
Read it. You will love it just as I have.

This is a fast-paced, funny, uplifting read. The author springboards from personal dating anecdotes, and then sprinkles in perspective and research from psychologists and authors in the fields of personal growth and relationships to back up her conclusions, but does it with a light touch keeping it relatable and fun avoiding heavy and didactic.
A recommended read for solid advice from a guy BFF for those of us who don't have one. Just like guys sneak a peek at Cosmo to try to figure us ladies out, here's a great insight into a guy's perspective on women in dating.
Both helpful and hilarious. Hard to put down.
This was such a great read! On first glance, this looks like it would be just another self-help book, but once you get into it you realize it's a great story with sage advice at the top of each chapter. Can't wait to check out her future adventures!
When I first started writing professionally back in 2017, I would have never guessed that I’d be sitting here with more books in the works. Honestly, I'm surprised I finished the first one. Working on them has led to some incredibly challenging yet fabulously rewarding experiences. Check out the upcoming projects that I'll be releasing soon.
